Stonnington Relay for Life fundraising
June-September 2015

Our club put together a team and raised money for the Cancer Council through the Stonnington Relay for Life fundraiser.  Relay is a chance for the local community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.

World's Greatest Dinner
March 2015

Our club hosted a social night fundraiser to contribute to Rotary International's goal of raising $3 million to help end the debilitating disease polio. Donations from the night went to the Rotary International's End Polio Now fund.

'Give Back to the Mac' Social Night Fundraiser
October 2014

Give Back to the Mac is a social beach party fundraiser for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, which is Australia's only public hospital dedicated to cancer treatment and research.  The personal experiences of a member have inspired this fundraiser that aims to support the ongoing efforts of the Peter Mac towards improving treatment options and furthering cancer research.

Overall, our club successfully raised $4,500 for Peter Mac.  A fantastic effort to everyone involved and a huge thank you to our sponsors.

The 2014 RCMP Trivia Night was a 'Christmas in July' theme
RCMP Annual Trivia Night
November 2011, July 2013 & 2014

Every year we run a trivia night at the Richmond Town Hall to raise funds for the club to enable us to enact positive change in the local and international community. The night is renowned for it's energetic atmosphere, and is a favourite event on the calendar for friends of RCMP.

This year's raffle and auction prizes included 2 tickets to the Footy Show, a night's accommodation from the Art Series Hotel group, a signed Richmond Football Club jumper, a signed Chenai Super Kings cricket bat, and a $1000 photography voucher with Artist Photographer.

WhiteLion Bail Out
May 2014

We had several members volunteer to be 'locked up' in Melbourne's Old Gaol for the night to raise funds for WhiteLion, which is an community organisation that works with young people who are at risk and disconnected from the community due to abuse and neglect, drug addiction and poverty. Through their efforts over $1000 was raised for WhiteLion.

Before the Pounce BBQs
2012 - 2014

This project saw us working with the Richmond Football Club at their Before the Pounce pre-game events at Punt Rd Oval before MCG match day. We ran a food stall selling sausages and drinks for Richmond FC members and fans, with half of all proceeds raised going to The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, while the other half are utilised for club projects. Before the Pounce was a successful fundraiser, and to signify this we recently handed over a cheque for nearly $10,000 dollars to the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, and $1000 for the Richmond Fighting Tiger fund.

City2Sea Fun Run Volunteering
November 2011, 2012, 2013

We have members volunteer their time to assist at the City2Sea Fun Run, and a donation per member is awarded to the club. Last year's proceeds were donated to the ShelterBox initiative which provided tents and emergency supplies to victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Phillipines.

Street Change: The Search for Melbourne’s Best Busker
October 2010, February 2012 & 2013

Street Change was a concert-style fundraising event featuring the city's top buskers where the audience voted with their spare change for their favourite performance. The funds raised were donated to HomeGround Services- an organisation that is making a significant difference to Melbourne's homeless people. The busking act that raised the most money was declared winner of the event and awarded the official title of ‘Melbourne’s Best Busker’.  This event aimed to

  • Heighten public awareness of the plight of Melbourne’s increasing homeless population
  • Raise money for one of Melbourne’s leading charitable organisations that specialises in support of the homeless
  • Support and nurture Melbourne’s fabulous busking culture and locate and reward Melbourne’s BEST busker!

Our inaugural Street Change event kicked off in 2010 as part of the Melbourne Music Festival with a 1000 strong audience at City Square in Melbourne’s CBD. In 2012 and 2013 Street Change became part of the QV Summer Concert Series. This was a successful project with thousands raised for HomeGround Services and The Lighthouse Foundation.

'Give Back to the Mac' Social Night Fundraiser
October 2012

This fundraiser was the initiative of a member who had a cousin supported through their cancer treatment by the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. A social night fundraiser at St Kilda’s Hotel Barkly was organised to help raise over $1,000 for The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre which is Australia's only public hospital that is solely dedicated to cancer treatment, research and education. It was an enjoyable night, featuring entertainment including live music and DJ, a magician and photobooth.
